How do Nutrien Ag stores order an Automatic Lamb Feeder?
Due to the size of the Automatic Lamb Feeder, orders can be placed directly with Shearing And More using a Nutrien Ag Purchase Order (PO).
Simply send the PO through to our team and we'll process the order and arrange delivery directly to your store.

Where is the feeder sent from?
Automatic Lamb Feeders are dispatched directly from our warehouse, rather than needing your store to hold large quantities of stock.
​
How long does delivery take?
Due to the size of the feeder and delivery requirements, please allow approximately 5–10 business days for delivery.
We recommend allowing for this timeframe when ordering a unit for a customer.

Can our store keep feeders in stock?
Yes. Stores expecting demand during lambing season can order units ahead of time using a Nutrien Ag PO and keep them available in-store.

Heating & Mixing
​
How does the automatic heating and mixing work?
Set your desired starting and stopping temperatures on the digital controller.
The feeder automatically heats and mixes the milk until it reaches the stopping temperature. It then stops heating and mixing and allows the milk to cool.
Once it reaches the starting temperature, the heating and mixing cycle automatically begins again.

Why has the motor stopped?
This may be completely normal.
The motor is designed to turn off when the feeder reaches its stopping temperature and start again when the milk cools to the starting temperature.
Before assuming the motor is faulty, check the current temperature and start/stop settings.

The feeder isn't mixing at all.
Check whether the feeder is currently within an active mixing cycle.
If the screen and temperature gauge are operating normally and the feeder should be mixing but the motor isn't running, submit a support request with a short video.

Milk Flow & Blockages
​
Milk isn't coming through a teat.
Check the individual teat and milk line for a blockage, kink or milk build-up.
If other teats are working normally, the issue is likely isolated to that particular feeding line or teat.
​
Why are the milk lines clogging?
Milk powder that isn't properly dissolved, an overly thick milk mixture or milk residue left in the system can contribute to blockages.
Check the milk replacer's recommended mixing ratio and make sure the milk is properly mixed.
​
How do I clear a blocked line?
Remove and inspect the affected teat and feeding line, clear any visible build-up and flush the line thoroughly with clean water until milk can flow freely again.
​
How can I help prevent blockages?
Correct milk preparation and daily cleaning are important.
Thoroughly clean the feeder, teats and feeding lines after each day's use so milk isn't left inside the system to dry and build up.

Digital Screen & Temperature Gauge
​
The digital screen isn't working.
If the screen is blank, damaged, unresponsive or won't allow you to change the temperature settings, submit a photo or video.
The Digital Screen / Controller may require replacement.
​
The temperature reading doesn't seem correct.
If the displayed temperature is clearly incorrect, isn't changing as the milk heats or cools, or is behaving inconsistently, there may be an issue with the Temperature Gauge / Sensor.
Send us a video showing the displayed temperature and what the feeder is doing.

The feeder isn't stopping or restarting at the selected temperatures.
Check the start and stop temperature settings first.
If they're correctly set but the feeder isn't responding to the milk temperature properly, the temperature sensor or controller may need to be checked.

Motor
​
How do I know if the motor may need replacing?
A motor issue may be present if:

The screen is operating normally

The temperature reading appears correct

The feeder is within an active heating/mixing cycle

But the motor isn't operating or the milk isn't mixing
Unusual grinding or abnormal noises from the motor should also be checked.

Should I replace the motor if it keeps turning on and off?
Not necessarily.
Turning on and off is part of the feeder's normal temperature-controlled operation. Always check the start temperature, stop temperature and current milk temperature before selecting a replacement motor.
​
Cleaning & Daily Use
​
How often should the feeder be cleaned?
We recommend thoroughly cleaning the feeder after every day's use, including the main container, feeding lines and teats.
This helps reduce milk build-up and blockages and maintains better hygiene for the lambs.
​
How often should customers refill it?
For a busy day, fill the feeder in the morning and let it operate throughout the day.
When feeding larger numbers of lambs, check the milk level around lunchtime and top it up when required.

Repairs, Parts & Warranty

What main replacement parts are available?
Depending on the issue, replacement components include:

Do we need to return the entire feeder?
Not always.
Many issues can be resolved by identifying and replacing the affected component rather than returning or replacing the complete feeder.

How do we submit a warranty or repair request?
Use the Warranty & Repairs section of the support hub and provide:
Order Number • Purchase Date • Store Details • Description of Issue • Photo or Video
You can also select the replacement part you believe is required.

What if we don't know which part is faulty?
That's completely fine — don't guess.
Send us a short video showing the issue. Our team can review how the feeder is operating and help determine whether the problem is with the motor, temperature gauge, digital controller, feeding system or another component.
